i would sit down and ask My son. if that is the reason you moved closer i would try and find out how to See them more. my parents get their 4 grandchildren every week end that has been that way since the first one was born. it is not a question if they get them or now it is what time can i pick them up. good luck.

Hi
I know the feeling, its Ok for, me to travel over 500 miles including a ferry trip of almost 3 hours as well. But my daughter cannot find the time to see me. I have even tried getting us all together for a family holiday at somethng like Centre Parcs - but still no go!
I have limited income, my daughter has a priveledged lifestyle, so she could fly.
See my own last question. I wish you the very best.

Chances are, you really already know the answer. I'd guess that's it's your daughter-in-law behind the decision. Talk to your son and ask the real reason. If you and your daughter-in-law have problems, your only recourse, sadly, is to suck up to her if you want to be near the children.

Because it's your son and not your daughter. Surely you've heard the saying, 'A daughter is a daughter all of her life, a son is a son till he finds a wife'!

I would try to talk to them about it first...but if that doesn't work then petition for visitation. You would see them at least every month that way. I know grandparents that have gotten every other weekend

Probably because you are a rude mother in law and you annoy your son and his wife.
