It's ridiculous! Why on earth would you want the poor dog, especially a breed like a golden who craves human companionship, to be segregated? Didn't your poor dog's breeder have you fill out any kind of questionnaire as to your suitability for owning a dog?

You bet Golden's shed, especially in the summer time. For that matter, all dogs shed, some more than others. Just happens to be that the bigger the dog, the more hair there is to wind up in your house or yard. Brushing is in order here during the shedding months which are the warmer months of spring and summer. As soon as it starts to turn cooler, the shedding will calm down. Think about it, humans shed hair also. About 100 hairs a day from our little heads!
Golden's will mat too if they are not brushed, especially in the feathered areas of the hind legs, underbelly, and chest. There are shedding brushes in Petsmart or Petco that really help cut the loose hair out of the coat. The mitts that have the little rubber teeth work also, catching and pulling the loose coat hair, but work better on short hair breeds. Brush, brush, brush, that's the secret. People seem to not think about these things when they get a certain breed. Any dog with long hair will be a daily grooming task. Please don't just lock this dog in a room and forget about keeping his/her coat brushed. This is part of owning a dog. Maybe you could hire a neighborhood kid to sit and brush your dog making this an task easier for you.
A room for your dog is okay. However, Golden's are very sociable dogs and will need to be with your family as much as possible to keep the dog from getting depressed and lonely. Some dogs are more prone to this than others. Golden's are one of these breeds that just need people around. If you have another dog that would be a companion for him/her that would be better. The dog wouldn't be alone so much. Golden's are very loyal and devoted family dogs that need family.
Bottom line here: It would be better to get that brush and start brushing. Good luck.

I would say no that's not a good idea and if you get a room for the dog put it in the house and don't just leave him in there. If a dog goes to long without human contact it'll start to get used to no people so it'll turn into a wild dog and become mean.

Noonie may have something stuck in his gut - I would take him for walk, and watch him very carefully - does he seem relaxed or nervous? If he goes number 2, feel his belly again - is he happier about your touching him now, or is he still in pain? That could be trouble! If he is still in pain after his walk, DON"T FEED HIM ANYTHING, if you haven't already, and take him to the emergency vet. THey will do an Xray to see if he ate something he shouldn't have, or if hjis gut ios twisted - that is life threatening even though it may not seem so now.... You don't want to feed him before you go to the vet, in case they need to do surgery- it is very dangerous if the dog throws up when he is under anesthesia, so nothing for him until he gets cleared by the vet!

To do what you are talking would be cruel. Your dog is a social creature, and should be with the rest of its family.
This is a bad idea.
Instead feed a high quality food, and brush your dog daily. With a high quality food (Innova, Canidae, Natural Balance) and daily brushing you'll find shedding is lessened.

BAD idea. Why would you want to keep your dog separate? THe dog wants to be with it's people. It's almost as bad as people keeping their dogs outside. Let your dog be a pet and stay inside with the family.

I think so. Well I know people who really cares for their dog .. I mean treat the dog like a human and get the dog build a dog house except this dog house. Is not a normal one... It have carpet , windows , a roof , its like our house but smaller, they even have a front door. So thats fine. Good luck and God Bless.

YES! This sounds like an EXCElENT IDEA! I have a golden retriever too, and I REALLY wanted to make a room for her too, but, we can't at the moment. I would recommend that the room is connected the house. That way, you know that your dog is safe. Plus, whenever you need to go somewhere, you can just lock her up in the room. This plan sounds GREAT! Thanks, and good luck!
