I was granted Unemployment benefits for 6 months. I have well over 27K in my unemployment balance. Working since I was 15 and never filed for unemployment until now. If I still dont find a job can I ask for an extension for another 6 months???? I hear yes I hear no, but my friend in NY got it for 1 year. is it the same, diff? please let me know.

They sent me a a document indicating available Unemployment benefits $27,650 approved unemployment amount $13,650 and it breaks down for every year that I have worked how much unemployment funds I have accumulated and than all the way on the bottom it said total amount of unemployment benefits available $27,650 so thats where I got that number from.

No. Sometimes when unemployment is very high, extensions are available. That isn't the case now.
And by the way, that 27K isn't just sitting in an account somewhere with your name on it. And I don't know where you get that number anyway. Unemployment payments go into a fund, and benefits are paid from that fund to people who qualify.

You have no "$27,000 in any unemplyment balance".
It's a tax, not a savings account. If you qualify for benefits you get the same benefits as anyone else based on your salary for the last 6 months.
In NJ, benefits are payable for 6 months, unless the unemployment rate due to the ecomony is high and the state passes a law to extend benefits beyond 6 months...
