Within the same mind and body lies a loving and a cruel person. We are all like this to various and different degrees. Many people try to pretend to be something they are not. Or should I say wish they were and are not.

I don't know why but it sure is exasperating! I run from anybody who makes me crazy as soon as I realize they are trying to play me. This has been going on since the beginning of time -- there is an old movie about the subject called "Gaslight". It's when someone who is close to you and should be good to you begins to kind of 'set you up' to cause your relationship to disintegrate. Like no matter what you do or say, you have done something against them. Like every question they ask, you answer wrong. I always think if a person doesn't want to be my friend anymore, why don't they just take the high road and make tracks. There's no need to make me crazy first! I just feel like you need to realize they can't do it to you UNLESS YOU LET THEM. RUN, don't walk from anyone who does that to you...

This could be a long discussion in a psychology class. If you want an opinion,. I think people play mind games because they like to see how people will react to their games. they could do it for fun, to gain something whether it be for personal or sexual gain. Some people do not realize they are doing it. It just becomes something they know they can do because the other person is foolish enough to play along. That there becomes a self satisfaction because that is when they realize they can play....

In attempts to get the best of people. Some people see it as a sport or a source of entertainment. In regards to relationships many are too afraid to say what they really think so by playing mind games they think this will solve the problem, but it doesn't. I am guility of this. My next door neighbor continues to ask me to come over and "hang out" inside of telling him that I think he is totally digusting, I flirt (mind games) with him and pretend I am interested, thus I am only draging out a problem that could be solved by simply telling him to leave me alone.

Mind games make relationships confusing. Some people [usally the one starting the "game"] think that there interesting, and at times fun. I try to stay away from people who like them therefore I stay out of them.

For many reasons. It can be because they like to be the center of attention and like being in control of other people's lives because they find it hard to find control in their own lives. They could be very insecure with themselves and may be hell bent to make other people feel the same way. Some people are just down right sadistic and nasty and take pleasure out of hurting others and are sociopaths and never learned how to properly deal with being around other people.

Just remember people who play mind games are playing with their own mind the most. Just know your own mind and you'll be fine.

Because they have a control issue. They like to control people all the time. My boss has this problem. It is definitely a sign of complete insecurity and weakness.
