Are they so ignorant they do not realize the protestant reformation was CATHOLICS reforming the church of rome into their liking?

Why do you ASSUME protestants follow what they profess to believe any better than a catholoc?

I guess they just don't know any better. In certain denominations, protestants are actively taught that Catholics aren't Christians (I know -- I used to belong to one of them). I even once came across a protestant church who stated in their mission statement that their prime purpose on earth was witnessing to Catholics to get them to leave the Church of Rome. Crazy, huh.
Facts don't seem to matter much to people like that.

Strange that they should email you on that issue as you are neither catholic nor protestant. (You come across suspiciously like a muslim trying to sow dissension between christians - am I right?)
There was conflict, leaving some bitter feelings. So some in some churches, old prejudices persist. However, it is true to say that some Roman Catholic churches can be somewhat ritualistic, just going through the motions. Some of the people going to churches like that don't have genuine saving faith in Christ for that reason. But most of the doctrine taught by the Catholic church is correct, from my relatively protestant view, only a few fringe aspects of faith are weird imo. They do teach that Jesus died for our sins, and salvation comes through believing in Him, which is essential for salvation. So in my view, where Mohammedanism is 5% correct salvation-wise, catholicism has a 90% correct basic salvation message. Those are my impressions.

sometimes people forget that even when in the bible we are to hold to tradition. the protestant reformation held to a number of the traditions but they forgot - they all stemmed from Catholocism.

Do you realize that the present pope made a recent decree that The Roman Catholic Church is the only true Christian Church, and that ALL other Christian churches were " pale imitations " ? So, according to your pope, your church is the only Christian one ! This is true. Check it out !

Do you know that the Pope's title is Pontifex Maximus and that comes from Augustus Caesar who founded the pagan Roman Empire?
Most Catholics do not walk what they talk and the false prophet is coming from the Roman Catholic Church as stated in the Bible itself.

Because many of them have little idea of their own religion. The newer Christian sects are marked by their ignorance.

Anyone who follows Christ is technically Christian, so in other words they either arn't thinking, or they are just plain dumb.
