Why, when all the scriptures say to love everyone is there so much religous intolerance and Hate? Hindus hating Muslims, Muslims hating Hindus, Hindus hating Seiks, Christians hating Muslims, Christians hating Jews, Muslims hating Jews, Jews hating Muslims, etc. etc... Why can't we all just love each other as the scriptures say? Thay all say "love your brother." When are we going to start listening?

Because hating is so easy. Love can be difficult and hard at times. We can always find a reason to hate someone ,but finding a reason to love that same person is challenging. I agree, theres enough hatred in the world, believers should not add to it , but try to alleviate hatred.

Read all of the scriptures. Yes, there are scriptures that teach love. But there are also scriptures that teach intolerance and hate. But the biggest problem with the scriptures is that they all teach that people can be "god's chosen ones" who deserve special treatment or rights over others that "reject god". This teaching is used over and over again to justify mistreatment of others.
It is especially appalling to me that people pick and choose from the teachings. The New Testament claims that Christ said:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35)
Yet so many Christians overlook this clear statement, and use other scriptures to justify bigotry & intolerance towards gays.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Bible is not divinely inspired. No perfect being would have allowed a book that is supposed to teach morals to be such a confusing guide to moral behavior.

Most religions are great. However as long as the question of whom we are , what is the purpose of earthly existence and what comes after death do not find real answer, they will always be much hatred among human biengs. Prophets and messengers from the Creator did not come to create religions, followers create religions and distort the true essence of the messages to suit their understanding. All the messages were meant to harmonise and to lead to one goal: spiritual upliftment of the human race and ultimately the recognition of One True God !
The bottom line is , when we die we cant cliam to be muslim , catholics, boudhiste , or whatever.

I certainly agree with you. I wish I had an answer. I think some people feel better when they hate other people. Then they think they are better than them. I think it is a real shame that this is happening. There are good people in every religion. Please speak up! Let's stop the madness!

Its because of ignorance of the principles of religion. Most fanatics are faithful and faith blinds them from principles and reason. They think their faith is superior and then the hate story unfolds.
But in my opinion all the strife thats happening is not due to religion. Religion is just a mask to cover monetary and political gains.

The potential to hate is inside all of us. Its a problem of attitude and ignorance. Hatred between different religions, race, classes, etc. are just the surface , the root of hatred is our hearts.

It is religion, tends to bring out the worst in people.
Oh and reality check, they do not all say love each other, it usually stops at the tribe's boundary.
