There are several who claim to be Roman Catholic Priests who answer questions here.
I can't wait to hear their answers on this question.
I've been a Pastor since 1974 and I don't know of a case where the RCC removed a Priest without being forced.
If its occured its only occured in the past few years and certainly not before the huge scandal which started in Boston which we all began to hear about staring in about 2002.

>>They've sent them to get cured, where they pray and get forgiveness, but have they ever just been removed?<<
You mean removed from active ministry without being sent for help? I don't know, as I am not privy to the files of abusive priests, but you seem to be implying that being removed from active ministry without being sent for help is better than being removed from active ministry AND being sent for help. Do you really want the Catholic Church releasing sexually abusive men into the community without any help or supervision?

Yes, they have in my diocese. In fact, it has been the policy of this diocese since the mid 1960s that any member of the clergy or religious order who committed inappropriate sexual actions, including the abuse of a minor, would be immediately handed over to the police and stripped of their religious title. This has been, unfortunately, put into practice more than once (at least two cases have been documented), but the very stringent policy let would-be abusers know that they do not have safe haven here. The diocese will stand by its people, not an abuser who tries to hide their intentions in religious garb.
It's a horrifying shame that this same policy was not practiced elsewhere, but it is very effective.

This question is like the tree that that fell and no one was around to hear it. If they have they can not say because confession is sacred in the church and to tell what you learn there a great sin. Don't get mad at me for saying this. I am not saying it right to not report child abuse it is disgusting but I am not the one who took a vow to be a priest. And Most pride their vows to God above everything else in life.

Please, please tell me why you think that the people at YA would have this information?
I would assume that at some point they have, but I wouldn't know of any specific incidents.
