Don't mar your beauty with a tattoo! The mermaid may look "cool" when you're 30, but when you're 60, she'll look like a dead fish washed up on the beach! Stay natural! You'll be glad you did!

I would have to agree with james L ... A mermaid may very nice on your back or on your calf etc, but on your arm? You may want to think twice about that. I had a customer today who had a blue rose the size of a baseball on her right arm, she was in her thirties I am guessing, and the tattoo looked horrible - however, you could tell she hadn't had the ink freshened in years - she needed a touchup badly. I had a customor come in a few days ago - she was near fifty - and she had an old west bison skull and dreamcatcher on her arm, and it was kept up very well - it looked better and it worked for her.
I'n not saying don't get it on your arm, I'm saying, if you do - keep up on it, and make sure that your arm is exactly where you want it to be forever - otherwise, think of another spot :)

I'm not sure if I'd go with it on the arm for a girl. Tattoos look fine on girls but you need to be sure about it. A mermaid would probably look cooler on your back or your leg. Then you can determine when you want to show it off by what kind of outfit you wear. Just a thought.

Thats just my opinion. I design all mine. They might be similar to other tattoo's but I always make them a little unique to me. And all of them have some sort of meaning or story behind them. That way, I wont regret them.
I would think you'd regret gettin' a mermaid. *shrug*

never been a big fan of tattoos , always figured i got enough scars on my body, that I'm not gonna pay hundreds of dollars for someone to give me anymore
besides that mermaid at 18 will be a sea cow at 60

I think mermaid tattoos are beast, and you should get one.

i don't think it would be 'ugly', but tattoos on girls is not something i find attractive, but it don't bother me too much either way, as long as you feel comfortable and like it, don't worry
