according to islam. after you die and are placed in the grave. an angel will come to you and ask 3 questions 1. what is the religion of God 2. who is the prophet? 3. is there one God
i am also told that in the grave if you had led a sinful life an agel with a smell so terrible will stay with you until the day of judgement, and if you were righteous a sweet smelling angel will accompany you. when jesus comes back and all is said and done and the day of judgement has arrived God will choose your eternity. only God can choose. noone can say Yes i will go to paradise.
i read a story about one of the prophets compainions who knew a kind religios monk who spent his whole life in prayer and dedication. one day the monk died and the companion of the prophet was crying alot. when ask why was he crying he answered. there are so many Good people in this life who spend all their days praying but they will not benefit from it because they were in the wrong religion.

There is a 3/4 probability you are better off believing that there is a God and that He will take care of business when one goes away. There is 1/4 probability that one is better off not believing in God. Look up Pascal Wager http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal's_Wager
Look at the implications of his theory and the derivatives. It proves that whoever does not believe in God is putting him or herself at unnecessary risk. This unnecessary risk, might be foolish. This whole thing is simple math, no religion, no faith involved.
So, from this, I can tell you that when one dies, there is a chance one will eventually meet with God, and He will let one know (if one doesn't know it already) if one has what it takes to go to heaven, or if one is going to hell. All this will be done as is written in the bible. Going to hell is considered "the second death" because it's spiritual death, gone forever. Surprise: Not everybody will have eternal life. People might see it as "it happens to others but not to me!!" as we think when it comes to accidents, deceases, divorces.... and so on.

After you die your body rest's, your breath goes back to God, and you lie there until the second coming of Jesus and than you are risen from your earthly grave.
If you were in Christ before you died than you shall be first to Heaven, and than those of us who are still alive and in Christ we will go second.

My son was killed right before Christmas, he believed in Jesus and he believed in the Bible, he told me this just days before his car caught fire and burned him alive. He told me that Jesus was in his heart 100%. He said their had been times in his life when he doubted God/Jesus, but he was convinced Jesus Died for him , so that he would have eternal life in Paradise.
So , I believe my son is in heaven now, where there is nomore pain, suffering or tears. His spirit left his earthly body as soon as he took his last breath. God then lifted his spirit to eternity.

you stay dead forever.
Remember what it was like a hundred years ago? It's exactly like that.
This scares some people so much they make up stories about a magical fairy granting people eternal life.
We call these stories "religion".
