Yes you should be entitled to at least a few days of due to this. She s classed as Immediate family.
If you have an union rep within your work place speak to them and go and see one of your managers.
If you don't and want to speak, I am an union rep within my workplace.

Most companies are compassionate in these circumstances . I think the average company would allow you two or three days off plus a day for he actual funeral. The nearness of the relative would be a factor but a sister would be pretty high on the list .Whether with pay or not would be a matter of company policy .

If you are in the US legally your employer must give you at least 3 days for immediate family, but it may not be paid, that depends on your employer. More time than that would depend on whether you have any vacation time.
Any employer that does not give you time off for something like this is not someone you would want to work for anyway.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Very sorry about your sister.
It usually depends on you employer's policy on it. Do you have a written personel policy? Hourly jobs often don't provide for it, but maybe if you have a good relationship with your manager you can plead to his/her sense of compassion. Or, at the least work out a deal. Most people are somewhat understanding.

Depends on your contract as to wether youd get paid or not, or if you are allowed a certain amount of time off. Most companies would give you some time off, but theres no rule about it.

See Personnel. They will tell you how much time you are entitled to. I had a week's paid leave when my father died, the policy is according to who has died. You should get time off if it is your sister.

It depends upon your company's rules. Most companies these days offer bereavement pay of up to 3 days, but check with your boss or HR Dept. Head.
I am sorry for your loss!

sorry for your loss.
As she was immediate family, you should be able to get the day off, but you will have to check the small print in your contract as to whether you get paid or not.
There is no statutory right to paid time off.

I can't believe there's any company that wouldn't give you a couple of days (at least) off with pay for the loss of such a close relative.
Condolences to you.
