OK, so were your mom and his mom actual cousins or what? If they are first cousins, you are in the clear, because you are second cousins.
Not that I see anything wrong in first cousins marrying; it was very common in olden times, but illegal in most states. Secon cousins is different.
Just see where it develops....

You guys arent related by blood so there is absolutely nothing work with that, and like its also good because she can tell you about his family and if you really want to get involved with someone like that, but other that, theres nothing wrong go get him (LOL)
