Most places recommend a somewhat thicker unscented lotion earlier on - Eucerin, for example, is that I use. Realistically any lotion should work. The important point is to keep the area moisturized, and the specifics are not as important, plus keep the area clean (depending on location, this can be anywhere from tricky to trivial). Thicker moisturizers used in moderation do this best.

I wouldn't use vaseline or neosporin though. As commented by artists who post to YA, vaseline can pull the color out of a new tattoo, and a lot of folks are allergic to neosporin (and other tribiotics) in the amount you would use on a tattoo.

For my last tattoo, they recommended Neosporin. Worked fine for me. I used an herbal hand and body lotion after the first few days.

Use tattoo goo. Apply a thin layer. Just enough to moisten it and wait for it to heal. Good luck

Call the tattoo place and see what they tell you. A lot of first aid creams and such can suck the color right out of your tattoo

None fragrance lotion, and soap and water 4times a day. The better you wash it the quicker it will heal. Use the no fragrance lotion for a week then let it dry out.

Good Luck!
