Hard to say. On the one hand, African-Americans have a higher poverty rate. On the other hand, Jewish-Americans have to put up with Mel Gibson.

See I think the question is making an assumption that people in trials are suffering..and that having trials and troubles somehow precludes you from having a purposeful and peaceful life. Also you assume that there is not victory from overcoming these trials that build a maturity and character far more satisfying than the idea of success ..which can not satisfy. I see many people chasing happiness so afraid of that suffering that they actually make a lifetime career of being miserable ..only to find happiness elusive and the more it is sought the more unattainable . It has nothing to do with circumstances but everything to do with being purposeful regardless of your circumstances. You look at those famous beautiful young girls that are rich and in jail and so lost and tell me that money or lack of persecution makes a difference to a person who does not have the Lord..and then find me a person who relies on the Lord and leans not of their own understanding in any color and I will show you one who can't be shaken by the things others would break over. Many people think that we are a free country ..its ironic..just as the pharisees did not see their own bondage we are also a country in bondage to sin and misery...it is much worse than starvation and mere death. Spiritual death is much more tragic than physical..I would imagine that there are as many people unhappy as there are unsaved people.. it has nothing to do with circumstances..it has to do with not having the peace to be able to be OK in any circumstance.

The issue is that people are suffering. Why should it matter what race or religion they are?

DZE has the best answer. The ones that suffer most are the ones that expect the handouts from everyone else and wont do anything to help themselves.

Isn't it better not to categorize by any religion or race? Some human beings suffer more than others but we all suffer to some extent I guess.

It's a mixed bag. Jewish people are bombarded with guilt a lot more than Black people.

I don't think too many Americans are suffering unless you're chronically or terminally ill.

Everyone else needs to get off the pity wagon.
