I went to Talledaga some years back, had greats seats at the start/finish line, and remember someone flipped on their lid coming out of turn 4 and slid all the way down the front stretch. The car stopped at around the start/finish line. The guy got out of the car, walked away from the car a few feet, and then turned around and walked back to the car, kicked the car, and then walked away.
It was too funny.
I was trying to tell my kids about it and thought I would try to find video for them to see. It was maybe around 1990.
anyone know the wreck I am talking about..?...the driver?

I know Elliott Saddler has flipped their. Twice, I think.

But here's what I found around the time you were talking about...

Rusty's wild ride
Rusty Wallace finished the Winston 500 in May 1993 flying upside-down and backward across the finish line before flipping 10 times and winding up in a mass of twisted metal in Turn 1. Wallace had been racing with eventual winner Ernie Irvan, Jimmy Spencer and Dale Earnhardt and suffered a broken wrist and a concussion.

I'm going to continue looking & if I find anything else, I'll come back & add. :o)

Good luck! :o)

Mikey Waltrip did this one year, think it was when he had an "escape"hatch in the roof of the car.
