If your bird doesnt like to use the lil bird bath that you put in the cage, you can use a spray bottle on mist with luke warm water to spray him with.

It is important for birds to get a bath and while some birds in the wild may not actually play in water, it rains in the wild which would give them the bath they need and require to help keep their feathers in good condition.

Bathing is very important, so if you find that your lil guy doesnt like to play in a dish of water or the bird bath, use a spray bottle on mist.

Not all parakeets like baths, in the wild some never have a bath. They do preen a lot to keep their feathers in good condition and clean. Try spraying him with some warmish water and it will make him want to preen.

Some even like to have a bath under a very slow running faucet too.

If you have already placed a bid bath in or outside of the cage, the parakeet just may not want to use it. Another method of bathing is to get a spray botttle and fill it with MILD water and mist them.

You put a bowl filled with miled water. But the water has to be as deep as between 1 to 2 inches deep.Or you could let your bird out of its cage and let the faucet on and it will take a bath in it.

I had to put my finger in the little bath tub, so that the bird knew what it was, and that it was safe. All of them then would get right in. One like me to run water from the faucet into my cupped hands, and he would get down into my hands and take his bath that way. Bless their hearts, they are now waiting on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.

DO you mean a bird bath? If u have a bird bath in the cage, or place it outsie, your bird should love to go in by itself (if its used to it and not scared) But you may also want to try and carefully turn on the tap in your bathroom, and while ur keets on your finger, allow him to play in the running water and clean itself in there.
