heat exhaustion. I went to my doctor and they said this is what I have. I am 16 years old. I play soccer for a club and I am out in the heat every day. But when I am out there I feel weak, faint or dizzy, with an accompanying headache or nausea, severe muscle fatigue, and profuse sweating. Basically, a physical collapse, which is what heat exhaustion is. I can't not play soccer, because we paid a lot of money for the practices and I am close to getting a scholarship. Does anyone know anything to help lessen the symptoms? Thanks!

Thank you! The thing is, I drink so much water and gatorade, that I am practically underwater with liquids and being hydrated doesn't seem to help.

Your body is doing this because it's overheating and not getting enough electrolights. Bring with you 1 1/2 to 2 quarts of water or juice even. Whenever you don't play in part of the game make sure you drink. Also make sure you tell this to your coach. Maybe your coach can spot when you look tired and call you to the bench for five minutes. Also make sure your uniform isn't tight on you. Even when you aren't playing drink plenty of water. You also migh want to bring a snack with you incase you very weak. Hope I helped you some.

You need to stay hydrated. Bring water or some other sport drink with you to the practice and games. Do not drink sodas or anything like that because it will only make things worse. Don't over do it with the water, but if you are really working out hard then about a quart an hour should do. Eat a banana before activity to help deal with cramping. Hope this helps. Good luck

Drink plenty of water or gaterade, the key to heat exhaustion is keeping hydrated and if possible take frequent breaks.

Drink gatorade before, during and after you play. I am surprised your coach and/or the doctor didn't recommend this! You are losing minerals (electrolytes) when you sweat, and they are not being replaced.
