when going out to eat, if we're equals than dont you think we should take turns and pay equally, and if i cook half the time you should mow the yard half the time

tradition is a bad excuse, slavery was a tradition, women not being considered equal to men is a tradition, just cuz somethings a tradition doesnt make it a good idea

yea my sisters boyfriend feels the exact same way.. but the guy should pay MOSTof the time i think u dont have to pay ALL the time i guess.. good luck

I always say, with equality, out goes chivalry. If Women want to be treated equally, then they shouldn't be expected to be treated like girly girls.

I'm more of an advocate of respective differences rather than outright equality when it comes to subjective matters (like social behaviour, opening the door, ect). On objective matters, (like job opportunities and so forth), I believe in absolute equality.

That said, I believe whoever pays for the dinner should be the one who invited one to the dinner. Whether that be the Man or the Woman. If a Woman always expects her Boyfriend to pay for dinner though, that's a red flag.

Now to answer your question specifically, I think some Women don't really want to be equal in social matters such as this one(despite what they say).

idk,... its a traditon

i dont make my boyfriend pay, but he feels like he should and it makes me feel guilty

but people are differnt

and if life was fair men would have periods

and its a way to show respect to a women and let her know your not going to treat her wrong
