Wow, you're really upset, aren't you?
Yes, SOME Chrisitans in the past did bad things, terrible things. I am sorry it happened, but I can't help it.
I am not responsible for that. You cannot judge us all for that.
It's really unfair.
I did not waste an opportunity to show love. This happened a thousand years before I was born.
Maybe you feel better now that you have ranted. I hope so.
Your sarcasm is not really helping matters, though.

I don't recall ever talking "about liions and how 'we' recieved bad treatment from others in history". However, if you can find any post's where I have, please let me know.
That being said, it's not my past as I wasn't even alive then. My past is exactly that...MINE. We are all (regardless of faith) responsible for our choices in life, both good and bad.
No, we aren't "double dealers and hypocrits". We didn't commit the acts of those in the past. Using your logic EVERYONE alive today is a "double dealer and hypocrit" since every race and religion has commited some kind of atrocity in the past, including evangelical atheist's like you.

Is this a serious question?
The early history of the Church - i.e when the people were not allowed to read the Bible, when the Pope lied and said that Jesus Christ commanded that infidels be called and started the crusades - in my eyes, don't represent "Christianity".
Of course "Christians" are to strive for "luuuuuuuuve" and "taaaaaaaaawlerance" - but Christians, like you, are humans beings who make mistakes.
Professing Christianity does not make you Christian.

We all fall short of the glory of God, but as a Christian I wake up every day and pray to God for His help to follow the example set for us by Jesus. I try the best I can to love the Lord with all my heart, mind strength and soul and to love my neighbor as myself. And when I fall short I confess, seek forgiveness and resolve to do better.

Why can't you get it through you head. Hypocrisy is not a sin. Killing and persecuting others in the name of the love of god is a good thing.

Am I proud of MY past? Some of it.
Am I proud of "Christian" history...absolutely not. Don't judge me by the actions of others.

If I and my kind can forgive the Church for the Burning Days, what have they done to you that was so horrible that you cannot?
