Even if you don't this is a great thing for anyone to do. One of my favorite passages of scripture is Isaiah 40:31. It says,
"but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
It says that when we wait upon the Lord we will renew our strength. God loves it when His people will wait in His presence. And when we do, praise God, He will give us strength to go and live for Him. So my question is, when was the last time you went into your closet, and just waited in the presence of the Lord? How long has it been since you knelt by your bed, and talked to the Lord up in heaven? How long since you went to the altar and grabbed ahold of the horns and not let go until the Lord poured Himself out on you? God bless you guys today.

I don't see why people get upset at this, if they think it is preaching, then why do they read it? I asked questions and followed the rules. If you don't like how I worded my question, then don't read it. I hope that God will soon soften your hearts.

Thank you so much for encouraging us, Ready4FridayNights! It is such a blessing how you post things like this, just when we need them!
I'm not sure if you are aware, but your questions there about "How long has it been..." are similar to an old song by that name. Maybe some readers will be blessed by these lyrics:

How long has it been, since you talked to the Lord,
And told Him your heart's hidden secrets?
How long since you prayed,
How long since you stayed,
On your knees 'til the light shone through?
How long has it been since your mind felt at ease,
How long since your heart knew no burden?
Can you call Him your friend,
How long has it been,
Since you knew that He cared for you?
How long has it been since you knelt by your bed,
And prayed to the Lord up in Heaven?
How long since you knew,
That He'd answer you,
And would keep you the long night through?
How long has it been since you woke with the
dawn,
And felt that the day's worth the living?
Can you call Him your friend,
How long has it been,
Since you knew that He cared for you?
How long has it been since you talked with the
Lord,
And told Him your heart's hidden secrets?
How long since you prayed,
How long since you stayed,
On your knees 'til the light shone through?
How long has it been since you woke with the
dawn,
And felt that the days' worth the living?
Can you call Him your friend?
How long has it been,
Since you knew that He cared for you?

Christianity is not my religion; it is my reality.
I live every moment of my life with the power of God. I am never without the full
gospel armor on and in place.
Esspecially in this generation, its time for those Christian soldiers of God to gird up
and be prepared. Hopefully they will have those seven seals learned and planted firmly in their minds.
God Bless you, too, and your family.
Have a great day!

Thanks for the encouraging words. God's word is like a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Proverbs 3:5,6 says:" Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding . acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your path".
May you find strength in God's word. He loves you and he cares for you.

Thank you for this. God bless you also. Our ways are not His ways. His timing is always perfect. God knows we are impatient and want things done our way, in our time. We must be obedient and trusting in His will. This very mind-set came to me just yesterday. I have heard this verse for most of my life, but I want to make a conscience effort to abide by it.

Thank you for those uplifting words.
You have done more for this old lady than you could possibly ever know today.
God bless you.
(Did you know that the verses you quoted have been put to music? I know two different ways of singing them...they are among my favorite!)

Yes, I'm glad you reminded me of this passage of scripture.
It gave me real hope to shoot for. Well for those latter statements it has been a while.
