The other cats run to her rescue. the kitten appears to be having fun. When they approach her she stops and gets spooked. She's a very playful cat and very frisky.

Yep--totally normal. Almost anything can be "normal" to an 8 week old kitten---they are silly, they do crazy things and they are just so much fun. As long as you are sure that she is NOT hurt, let her go ahead and express her vocal abilities. As a general rule, females are much more vocal than males anyway. ENJOY!

How cute! I've seen cats do this before and yes, some kittens are more verbal than others. Sounds like she is really into her toy. (PS If you were going to keep one out of the litter, that is the one I would keep!)

i know it seems really weird b/c my cat does the same thing. i'd never had a cat that did that before. when he's playing with a toy or playfully wrestling with our other cat, he makes noises like he's being tortured or strangled, lol. he's perfectly fine though. i guess some cats just throw in sound effects.... :)

We've got one who 'sings' to her toys too, and when she's interrupted she looks at you like "huh? what?"

Nothing's wrong, she's just getting excited about her toy.

It's normal. She may change her behavior as she gets older, she may not.
