Here is your answer in the words of my Lord.. Jim
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

People here who are answering "Give me details" and "Which people/religions"-->

How many Christians believe in the Islamic faith? How many Buddhists believe in the Holy Trinity? How many Muslims believe in Nirvana? How many of you pray to Shiva or fear Kali?

My guess is only Hindus believe in Hinduism. Billions of people are NOT Hindu, so they don't believe in it. The same applies to the other religions. Even Christianity has roughly a billion followers. That means about 5 BILLION people do not believe that Jesus rose from the dead.

If people don't believe in what the religion is about, then I guess they believe it's a lie.

It's not necessarily a lie. A lie is an falsehood that the person telling it realizes is a falsehood. I think that most religious people do think they are telling the truth, even though they are wrong.

Because of the emotional attachment that religions builds in people, they cannot even comprehend reason when applied to their belief. And they are discouraged from reasoning about their faith, other than a few canned questions and responses.

I think it is similar to how freed slaves stayed with masters after they were freed because they really didn't understand the concept of freedom. They might have understood it from a rational point of view, but they couldn't emotionally cope with it. That's the so-called "slave mentality".

If you're referring to Christianity, the very idea behind it is offensive to the human mindset. Christianity says that we are all bad and desperately need some help or we're doomed. It tells good people they're evil, kind men they are cruel, and the charitable that they are greedy. Who would want to believe something like that? Being told you're evil hurts your pride.
And the people who don't want to believe it find ways not to. Some have called Christianity "The Great Insult" for this reason.

Which people are calling which religion a lie?

Because mine differs from theirs and everyone wants to be right. We're all wrong, of course, because no one has perfect knowledge, and if we could all concede this fact, we'd be happier people. But pride goeth before a fall and boasting before destruction, and what better thing to be proud of than something you believe with all your heart? As has always been true, man's worst enemy is man.
