Admit to yourself that it is over.
Talk to yourself. Tell yourself that you learned from your mistake. Look at it like this:
if you had NOT made the mistake, you would not be where you are now and know what you know now.
So, it turned into something good.

Cut yourself some slack, girl.
We all do bad stuff.
I doubt it was that horrible.
You need to let it go, or it will eat you up inside.

You like Wicca, right?
Would you be willing to do a spell on yourself? Make one up, or look for one on a Wiccan site.

Good luck.

The prophet Isaiah said, "Come let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet they will be white as snow."

Paul wrote "If anyone is in Christ they are a new creatrure, old things are passed away, behold all has become as new".

My dear if you believe on Christ, you are saved. If you did something wrong, or wronged someone, make amends to the person, and if to your self make amends to God by asking for forgiveness. That is what Jesus does. He forgives sins, he loved you so much He died so you culd be forgiven, cause even if you had been righteous from birth, you were still born into sin, no escape you are a child of Adam.

I have a number of sins to my recollection, but God has "taken them an thrown them into a sea of forgetfulness", or "thrown them as far as the east is from the west". I can assure you He has done this for you as well.

If you are being bothered by a past sin, that you have ask forgiveness for, then it is not God talking to you, but the devil. According to the Word he is the accuser of the of us that are in Christ. he will do what he can to create a sence of false guilt, and cause you to doubt what Christ has done for you.

DON"T LISTEN TO HIM!!!! RESIST HIM AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU!!!

I hope this helps and be encouraged in you faith. Talk with someone you trust about this situation, lay it all out, pray about it, and understand you can move on in freedom.

"For you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free."

The important thing to remember is that everything that happens, happens for a reason. You may feel as if you have done something horrible, but did you learn anything from the experience? Everything we do, everything we experience, every choice we make, makes us the people we are today. If you can look in the mirror and be happy with the person you see, then there is no point in dwelling on the past. Accept the experience and move on.

You said not to include "god talk", yet you asked this question in Religion & Spirituality rather than Society & Culture.

Either way, a book to read is called "The Miracle of Forgiveness" by Spencer W. Kimball. It's sold many, many copies and it changed my view on forgiveness as a whole. Search Amazon for it.

None of us will be able to give you that answer, because it's a very personal thing. Trust me...I know how it feels to not be able to forgive yourself, but you have to realize that you are human. No matter how many times we've all heard it before, we all make mistakes. I'm sure there are others out there who have done the same thing you have, so you aren't a terrible person, you just screwed up. Don't have regrets, just learn from the situation. It will make you stronger in the end!

Make amends with the person you wronged. Even if he (I'm assuming it is a he) doesn't want anything to do with you, at least offer your apologies. After that it's no longer on your shoulders. It's hard to let things go, and sometimes even harder to forgive ourselves. Focus on what you've learned from the situation, aim to make yourself a better person because of it.

*Hugs* and best wishes!

No way to do it without "god talk." He's the only One Who can forgive sins. If you consider "it" to be that horrible, imagine what He thinks of "it." Once you ask for His forgiveness & determine not to do "it" again, He can empower you to forgive yourself & begin whatever personal healing is neccesasry.

You can't change what happened in the past. So, you should find some sense in that and just get over it. If you are really that guilty about it, you should confide in someone.

The worst possible thing a girl could do would be skipping rope on a busy highway while trying to put her arm in a running food processor.

I'm not sure what you think is the "worst possible behavior" a female can participate in. Just go forward. Perfection does not exist.
