i have never hunted coons but if i did i would use a shotgun why do people say they use pellet guns

Hunting with pellet guns is illegal in most states.
Around here and back home in South Alabama, we always use .22 rifles for coon hunting. Shotguns ruin the pelt and mess up the meat too bad.

Most people that say they hunt coon with a pellet rifle, have never hunted coons!
That coon will tear you up if given a chance.

We hunt BIGGER ANIMALS than coons with "pellet guns."
Read and get educated. These "pellet guns" aren't the same
as your pop's pellet guns back in the day.

I shot a coon with my sons airgun which shoots a .177 pellet at 1600fps and the coon dropped dead. Its all about shot placement, just lets us pretend that we are kids again lol

D58, good to see you are back! I use a .22 and hardly anone uses a shotgun if they are keeping it because it puts wayyyy to many holes in it to be good. I really dont know why people use pellet guns. I use my .22 with hollow points and it drops them dead.
