If the script is for a half hour time slot (so the actual show length is probably, what 22 min?) how many pages should the script be?

I don't know how many pages a tv show script should be, but I wanted to make a comment to yyy's post above.

Why should Mimi write a script? Because it could be fun, educational, good writing practice, and a whole bunch of other reasons.

Why play an instrument yyy if you will never be a rock star? Why play a sport if you will never go pro? Why write anything if it will never get published? Why draw a picture or paint if it won't end up in a museum? Why do you even get up in the morning?

Some people do such things for the pursuit of knowlege and to better themselves. And if any fun can come out of it, that's all the better.

There are two kinds of people. Those who DO and give it their best try. And those who DON'T, give up before trying, and never accomplish anything.

For every person out there that has ever written or sold a successful script, there was a first time they wrote one.

When I read Robert Rodriguez's book "Rebel Without a Crew" he suggested the more you write the better. You first few scripts may not be that good, but the more you write the more you will learn and improve. So write your script Mimi, and write many of them. You have just a good a chance at scriptwriting as anyone else. Hell, Quintin Tarnatino sold some of his scripts while he was still working in a video store! Ever hear of "True Romance" or "From Dust Till Dawn"? As for "Marching into Hollywood", read Rodriguez's book and see how he did just that.

Like I always say, the people with the biggest mouths are usually the ones that have no business saying anything. And those tend to be the stupid and the ignorant.

A typical script for a half hour program, which averages about 20 minutes, depending on the size of font you are using should be with a size 14 about 18 pages, with a size 12 about 13.
