I believe it is the people. What do you think God believes is most important: your overall faith and the way you live or the fact that you wake up early to travel to a "sanctified" building (the reason for the quotation marks is because a lot of churches are full of heavy sinners)? Some hard-core Believers think you must pay your dues and attend church in order to earn your way to heaven. What do you think?

Don't get me wrong. I am not against Church. I am just tired of people that judge other peoples faith based on if they go to Church or not.

You are correct.
The building may be dedicated to God, but it is the people that form the Church.

Church is the people, and you cannot "earn" your way to heaven. To go to heaven you must ask Jesus into your heart, repent, and turn from your sin. I think going to church is good in the fact that you fellowship with christians and learn new things about the bible. Most churches make me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome which is why I am blessed to have found one that have such great people.

It's clear that The Church is the people who comprise the Body of Christ, truly born-again believers in Him. The building to which we go to fellowship together (which is an important thing to do), is just that: a church building.

aattending church can be anywhere. after a hurricane here in florida the members congregated and had a beautiful service - where the building used to stand.
the church is the body of believers. while i do believe that by belinging to a church and having a wonderful pastor/priest/teacher it IS my duty to offer financial assistance - it's not mandatory.

THE TRUE CHURCH ARE THE PEOPLE NOT THE BUILDING.

NO, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO A BUILDING TO BE IN CHURCH.

SOMEONE COULD GIVE ALL THEIR MONEY TO A CHURCH AND IT WOULD NOT GET THEM TO HEAVEN.
YOU CAN NOT EARN IT. GOD GIVES YOU SALVATION AS A FREE GIFT.

MONEY IS IMPORTANT, THO. GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER.. AND IT IS GREAT FOR PEOPLE TO SHARE.
LOOK AT SOME OF THESE FAMOUS RICH PEOPLE SUCH AS BILL GATES AND HIS WIFE.

BY THIS SHALL ALL MEN KNOW YE ARE MY DISCIPLES "IF YOU HAVE LOVE ONE FOR ANOTHER".

LOVE CONQUERS ALL!!

The term can be used for both the building and the people (or as such the whole institution).

It's the people. I like to attend because I like the people in my church, but I don't think you necessarily have to.

You don't go to church to earn anything. You go to worship God.
