I'm a 48 years old female with advaned osteoarthritis in my right ankle. I'm sure the bad car wreck I had 17 years ago breaking both my legs didn't help.
Not knowing what to expect after the surgery, I think it would help to have someone who is going through it too to talk with. To be honest, I'm scared. I have put this off for about 6 years and now I'm to the point of not having a choice. The pain is so bad, I walk with a limp and now that has effected my hip and back. Maybe I want have to go through alone.

i have treated many that had this surgery, i would suggest to consider moving in with a friend or family member for a few weeks at least post op. its painful but they will give you pain meds, they will want you to ambulate as soon as they can manage, of course follow their suggestions, good luck
