People get houses inspected by a professional before they buy them. They are especially looking for hidden dangers like termites or foundation problems.

If you really like a salesman riding around with you in the back seat all day. I never knew you could live in a house you did not pay for. I had to do 20 days of paper work and title search and closing before I moved in. I Know you think you can have a nice car and house and make an impression before the bill comes due! Won't happen in real life! Watch a movie Beverly Hills Cop Not real!

The only test drives I've had are for a couple of miles and have never heard of anybody test living a house? Certainly here in Thailand, houses are not usually built until you have paid a substantial part of the price up front.

what world do YOU live in? LOL. Some car dealers allow people to take vehicles home for more than a few hours, even days, yes. My wife was buying a Honda Element a few years ago, they let her keep it over the weekend to try out , from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. It all depends on the dealership.
As far as houses? I've never heard of anyone "trying" one out, other than Rent to Own, before purchasing.

I think generally most dealers will let you test the car for 48-72 hours.
Didn't know you could live in a house before buying it!?!?!?

Usually not...test drives are typically short...for a house...some people rent them before they buy, but you usually just buy it...there are more laws to protect you if there is something wrong with a house.
