That is a horrible story! I hope the flight attendant is serenaded by hundreds of howler monkeys for the rest of her life.

The world is definitely going crazy...everyone thinks that they are entitled to a perfert day everyday. I just can't imagine that this was the first baby that this flight attendant encountered....what did she do before. I mean the baby wasn't even crying, not that it would make a difference. That woman was better than me....I would have become infuriated that she suggested I drug my child. I would have embarrassed the hell out of her on that plane. How can you expect a person to reason with a 1 year old about proper plane etiquette....I mean come on.
She has no business being a flight attendant, let alone deal with the public at all. I hope her family, friends, and coworkers gave her some serious **** for how she behaved. Then to lie to the pilot in order to get her way....she knew she was wrong, but I guess she probably had no way to back down after her mini-tirade. Drug a baby...what the hell is wrong with her.

She was probably a flight attendant that doesn't have children and therefore couldn't handle the blabber of the toddler. This of course is no escuse for her actions because if she felt she couldn't handle the job of flying with children she shouldn't be a flight attendant. Some parents have no choice but to take their children on a plane with them and she should understand that. As far as the world I don't know, it seems to be the only case I've heard of as far as airlines go, but how do you really know? Anyway, I'm not sure I would want to fly with an airline anyway that would hire a stewardess such as that, in fact I would be pushing a law suit.

People take things waaaaay too far, like they always do. I mean really - a toddler thought of as a terrorist? Give me a break.
sounds to me like the flight attendant just didn't want to deal iwth it. I just got back from a trip to TX last week, and was seated next to a young mother and her 2 year old. This kid said "Bye bye" I don't know how many times (but he didnt' say "bye bye plane") and even though it can get annoying, you deal with it because it's only a small child who isn't old enough to know better yet.
People - get a grip on yourselves and behave like responsible adults. That's the only way we will survive.

I heard about that when it happened and was absolutely shocked. I have flown many times and sometimes my oldest daughter is cranky, I've gotten looks from passengers(usually older males who probably are alone and have no wife and kids) but never have I had a stewardess who had no sympathy.
Usually when a child is upset a stewardess will do everything they can to help, like bring extra cookies or try and make the child laugh.
I don't care if this stewardess was having a bad day because what, she did was set herself up for a lot of trouble in the long run. I think she needs to be suspended without pay and maybe even lose her job.
They also better be compensating this mother with like free plane tickets for a long time because otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if they have a lawsuit on their hands.

Selfishness!!! on the part of those that can't overcome a childs chatter, crying or being on a flight. My husband was in the military and gone for 13 mos. My daughter and I flew from Michigan to California to see him once during that time when his ship was ported in San Diego. We had 8 days we could spend together. My child was 14 mos. old at that time and I had a rude lady in front of me that leaned her seat all the way back into my lap and then got mad that my daughter kicked the seat 2 times. I did not want to spend our time traveling by car that could be spent together. Yes he chose the military as a career (20 years of service). But he chose it to defend the rights of America.
I may suggest volume for the overly uptight passengers. Rather than drug up a child!

I watched a news program that covered this story and it said that the other passengers on the plane stood up for the woman and confirmed that she DID NOT do anything wrong. I hope that the flight attendant that did this loses her job. It sickens me to think of someone drugging their child!!

That is absurd!!! The child was not even misbehaving! What the hell was she SUPPOSED to do??? Put her hand over her childs mouth? The kid was just being a kid. And anyone who has a problem with that is just ignorant. Now, if the child was kicking the seat in front of him or something that would be completely different, but since that was not the case... LAW SUIT!!!

I thought that was so rude, and I'm glad she is considering filing a law suit against them. Everyone thinks that they're own children are cute, and that is like the cruelest thing you can do to a mother. Some people just don't like children, but I don't understand how you couldn't love kids, esspecially babies. The flight attendant sounds like a real beotch, but what comes around goes around. I hope that lady never has kids.

Flight attendants do not understand what it means to have a child, because they do not even have a husband!
They piss people off with their anti- attitude, and to gravitate to a 2-year old means they have to be called to order.
Who does not know that toddlers are parrots?

Kids cannot stand being in the plane because it means they cannot run round and play. So they would climb up and climb down the seat where they are in and in doing so, forget all about all the other passengers nearby. There are parents who could not be bothered and let them do as they please. When they leave the plane, you would be amazed at all the rubbish on the floor of their seats. And being kids, you can't expect them to shut up. You should be grateful they don't cry continously throughout the trip. So, do consider the other passengers' feelings too. Afterall if you have paid that much for the trip, you do expect some standard of service.
