I have been to the s.c. D.N.R. website to search but there are only a few listed, and I am woundering if anyone knows of any that isn't listed or maybe private gun ranges that allow pay by the use. I am currently in the "upstate area"

Hum.... most of my friends just go out in the woods and shoot at beer cans! Then again.... that's Sumter county! LOL...
Sorry- I don't know of any. I don't think we have too many around here, but I could be wrong. Try talking with some of the millions of Hunt Clubs in our state... I bet alot of those guys could tell you, but you most likely won't find them on Yahoo Answers!

Talk to people in the gun shops. Heck, just talk to people. Eight out of every ten around here have at least a .22 that they shoot occasionally.
I've used google maps to scout for interesting places like abandoned gravel pits or old railroad right-of-ways..

the closest one to you that i know of is off of i-26 exit 72 going towards union. it's a nice little range but be carefull, i've heard of people getting robbed there. i know, who would rob someone that has a weapon? go figure, it takes all kinds. there is also a range off fish hatchery road in west columbia. good luck finding a place.
