Volunteer your time at a shelter, a soup kitchen, or donate money to the Red Cross or any other charity that supports homeless people here at home. I know that there are alot of bad things going on in other countries, but I also sincerely believe that we need to fix our problems here at home first.

There are many reasons why people are poor. Mostly they are poor because they don't earn enough money. I think the best thing we can do to help is to help them get a better education and a better job. Many times poor people have created the situation for themselves so there isn't much we can do to help them but we should try to help their children so the lifstyle isn't repeated. By this I mean:
1) Drug Use
2) Quitting high school or no education or skills.
3) Having more babies than you can resonably care for.
4) Living higher than your means.
5) Being irresponsible with money. (vacations, furniture, clothing, etc. that you can't afford just because you want it)
6) Be a Big Brother or Big Sister to their kids.

Yes I would like to help the poor. The best help for the poor, in my opinion,no one should have plenty of money and other things beyond their needs.

I don't have any money and I can't find work. Being poor is a state of mind I am just broke. I am not to proud to take a hand out, but would rather have a hand up.

tip the restaurant help real good ....... they are working hard for their living and you know they need the money.

yes i do , i send monthly checks to various organizations and churches in which i can see news letters and proof that my money is going to where they promise me it will go and one day i will go to Congo and fullfill my dream of being able to help the less fortunate in person.
