Why do so many people dislike dark meat chicken?

It's usually the juiciest and most flavorfull meat o the chicken. The chicken breast, although large and boneless has little flavor and is often drier.

I don't think it's that people don't like white meat, it's just that when you go out to eat, you usually get the thigh, leg and a piece of the breast with rib attached, so out of three pieces, two are the dark meat...it's the percentage game. I personally don't have a fav...I like it all...chicken, turkey, whatever...........yummy!

I don't know, because I like dark meat better too. It is more flavorful and not dry like some breast meat. Then again, I like duck (which is all dark meat).
Maybe it's just the "thing" to like. You've seen the type of people who think, "I only eat white meat. I only drink bottled water. Aren't I special?" (I love it that the two biggest bottled waters are made from tap water. LOL)
Before hot wings became so popular, only poor people ate the wings (along with the gizzard, heart, and other less desirable parts.)

I think it comes from people always wanting the best. The breast is the most expensive part so it must be best right? I tend to like the dark meat it is not so dry, however my wife says it's slimy and won't touch it. I call it just plain picky.

My family prefers the dark meat. I'm happy it's cheaper than the white! I do like the breast meat for sandwiches, though, with plenty of lettuce and mayonnaise.

Its because of all the "health food B.S." thats so prevelant these days..Just like people who eat wheat bread instead of white,,,,They all know they would rather have white and wheat doesnt taste as good,but it is supposed to be good for you.....I will stick with the dark meat and white bread.....

I guess because the chicken breast is healthier. and if cooked well it could be yummy too. but yeah im a dark meat lover too!

I love the white meat...I don't like the texture of dark meat...It has it's own distinctive taste that I dislike too...

I think it is a health matter. I LOVE dark meat. I don't get to eat it much anymore.

i don't think its really that most people dislike it. however it is unhealthy for you so thats why most people will stick with the white meat.
