I would call a Dr. anyways. Depression is serious. In the meantime, try hanging out at coffee shops or anywhere people hang out. Try to get to know some. Sometimes a simple HELLO is all it takes. Check with your local Dept. of Social Health Services. They do wonders in helping and wont charge you a dime. Good luck and DONT GIVE UP!!!

Check with your local mental health centre - there must be a clinic or hospital that would see you at no charge. You need anti depressants and trust me they will make a world of difference. At this point, you probably are so depressed you'll never find work. If need be go on social assistance - do you get benefits from them for health care?? I'm in Canada so don't know your system. But seems to me the sooner the government gets you better with medication and counselling and help finding a job, the sooner you would be off social assistance and back to being a healthy, productive citizen.
Make the call to a help line - they should be in the phone book.
Good luck.
Oh, the person who said cheer up and eat well has never been down to the last of their money with nothing in site. Good food costs money. People on social assistance often have to live on junk food because it's less expensive that fruits & veggies. Living on bread and peanut butter is a life for many in america.

go to the community free clinc and see someone.
go to the church and talk to the minister, pastor or clergy.. and maybe they can find some jobs in the church or in a community service.
You need to get off the couch and go and look for work at the unemployment centre.
turn off the tv and start going for walks.....get the endorphins working and don't keep yourself cooped up in the house.
stay away from coffee places or places where people just hang around.
Go down to the soup kitchen and see if you can volunteer, check with habitat for humanity...
Bud , it is out there, you have to make the first step and kick yourself in the butt to get moving,.
Throw away the kleenex and get going...
You will never have a life with a "poor me attitude"..
you have got to make things happen, not wait for them to come knocking on your door.
Get busy, there is so much you can do...
There are lots of things that do not cost money, so that is no excuse.....
.you need to be needed, go and help someone worse off than you...

See depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2. Contact the county/local mental health agency, or the Methodist church, or Catholic counselling (you don't have to be a member). Consider volunteering, even from home, at first. Babysit, while doing some of the more lucrative online surveys.

Go to the local Heath Clinic. The depression may be the root cause of your other problems, and it could have a physical cause.
Find a church should be priority #2. You need a support staff.

pull ya socks up, it might never happen, buck up your ideas, what u need is a kick up the bum............this is just some of the useless advice I was given over the years needless to say it didnt help.......Then last Autumn I bought a little puppy dog.
At first I wasnt keen on him so much mess everywhere & expensive injections at the vets, then he picked up flees....I nearly got rid of him but over the past year hes become such a source of happiness & his boundless energy & simple fun & loving nature have really made all the difference to my life giving me a reason to get up out of bed & a reason to smile again- maybe it could be of help to you, if you dont like dogs maybe a cat - I cant think of anything better that will give you such unconditional love & a feeling of contentment no matter what else is going on in your life.

Go to a Unitarian Universalist Church if there's one near you. All people from many races and creeds. Get involved in their programs and offerings. Do service and volunteer. Also, do not hesitate in going to legal aid society.

Cheer up.
Start eating better, because eating poorly affects how you feel about yourself. (especially sugar)
Get a pet, that way you don't have to focus on yourself anymore.
Get fresh air.
Find someone to talk to.
