I need to give a thank you gift however this person isn't really that close so I'm not going to do the typical look for a picture and put it in a frame stunt. Help me!

a nice gift certificate at their favorite store.....that way the gift will be something they like and not something they would want to take back or just put away......good luck

Ask his/her friend or relative which is her favorite store to shop (department store) and buy a gift certificate.
I am in this situation a lot. By buying a gift certificate you avoid wasting time returning an item, and making her unhappy. With the gift certificate she will buy herself whatever she prefers.

Do your best to find out what he/she don't have. For sure there is. You could also think of something that makes that person laugh, a good laugh that he/she will never forget. Knowing that persons likes and dislikes is a good guidelines. There is also a way by going straight to the heart. Good luck.

Give them your time. Maybe they are moving, working on a project, doing something around the house or office, etc. Time means a lot when you give yours to help someone else.
This person did you a nice thing, so get to know them a bit when you thank them, and offer your services when the time comes. You will know the opportunity when it comes.

Bath salts are great for women; lavender is nice. Men are a bit more difficult to buy for, so a cap with his favorite team's logo, or a keychain with the logo of his car's maker on it might work and not be terribly expensive.
