as i have stated before, i do not believe that marriage is wrong for people of the same sex. it is not a religious deal, nor is it a legal thing...for me anyway...
marriage is about love, trust and commitment...
do not be discouraged by those of ignorance....for they only look to cause chaos. the old adage remains true, misery loves company....
let those who want to judge and condemn live in their own self imposed misery and hell....
enjoy your life, for the mysterious divine entity, most commonly referred to as "god" does not want us to struggle, but only do the next right thing...love one another, and have a little bit of faith and integrity.
blessings to you and yours!

I haven't read one answer telling you that gays can get married in Christian churches in Canada. So here it is...gay Christians can get married in Christian churches by Christian ministers through a Christian ceremony in Canada.
But you are not Christian so you would have to go to City Hall.
For those who follow the bible, it may be against gays being together and thats your stand, but it also states men should not cut the sides of their bangs or trim their beards and women must have a head covering when they pray-how many of you stand by that?
The bible is an excellent tool to pick and choose from.

Marriage was originally a religious concept but eventually became a lawful one as well. For christians, no matter what, they will say that it is unacceptable for a person who is gay to be married. Marriage is about loving someone and wanting to spend your life with them, and to raise a family together and everything, sure gay people are unable to have kids themselves but there is always the possiblity of adoption. Adopting a kid whether the family is hetero or homosexual doesnt make a differance as long as they raise the child well, every kid in need of adoption deserves to have a family that would care for them. So Marriage is mainly about the religion in society but is becoming more about the law, and for christians any gay person being married is unacceptable. I am not christian i am pagan, and i wish that the christians would begin accepting that being gay is a natural thing in life and not something that corrupts a person.

Marriage is originally a religious event, so depending on which religion you follow (pagan marriage rituals should not have anything against same sex marriage, because it used to be accepted for two people of the same sex to be *intimate*) it would be accepted or not. But if you choose to marry in a church, it should not be accepted, because christianity doesn't accept same gender romantic relationships.

Sure. By not believing in Jesus as your Savior, you are not a child of Father God's. You have made a decision not to follow His spiritual laws or believe in them. Therefore, you live a worldly and carnal life. What ever the world says is okay to do, you will follow that ideology.
But just remember, if you do decide to follow Jesus, you would want to follow and live a spiritual life. Then you would walk in the spirit and newness of life, and not be carnal-minded anymore.

If you are gay, you are gay. That is your decision.
But marraige is about a unity under God. Of course you can make an oath to be with that person till death, but marraige is about taking that oath, with God as a witness.
Saying that, God did say being gay is wrong and if you married under him that would be like spitting in his face.
If you want to be gay thats your decision, if you want to take an oath to stay with you partner thats your decision, but marraige is about taking the oath under God, and as i said earlier, it would be like spitting in his face.
By the way with what you said to christ_follower, if you don't believe in God than technically marraige isnt really an option. Know what i mean cause marraige is the oath under Gods witness

Marriage is a legally binding contract between to consenting adults. God (and therefor religion) has absolutely nothing to do with it unless those getting married want HIM to.

why do you care about the christian religions feelings? if they said no are you going to rush out and have a gay wedding just to annoy the christians? thats pretty sad. Marriage is about both but it depends on what religion your part of.

Its fine! I dont think god cares about what sex we all are. We are all people! God created us, so god knew that there were going to be gays and lezbians ect. I think some of you are speaking for God, when it is YOU who are just unconfortable with the situation. God doesnt care who you marry, you just have to love them with all your heart!

If we allowed gays to marry then we'd have to let Warren Jeffs go and allow his group of closet pedophiles to marry children. By your words ..it's about the law.
