Whenever I ask a question on yahoo regarding my disbelief in religion I always get an essay approximately 2,000 words long from a religious supporter which is littered with quotes from the bible.

These essays usually appear within 2 minutes of me posting the question which would obviously suggest that they have been written in advance of me actually writing the question.

Are there really sad people out there who are sitting by their computers waiting for anti religious questions to appear so that they can post pre-written answers?

You are absolutely right in assuming what you have stated.
I have noticed that, too, when a religious question is asked, it is immediately followed by a very long `screed` that must have taken fifteen or twenty minutes to type out by an experienced touch-typist; then they save it for the next question.
They are the fanatics of the world, and the most likely to give you a `violation` if they do not agree with your answer.
It is all one-sided. They take the least remark that clashes with their belief as blasphemy. And whilst on that subject how can one blaspheme something which does not exist?
Neither you, or anyone else, will get them to change their minds, listen to reason, or agree with you, they are very much brainwashed and that is what priests rely on because they have been brainwashed themselves.
They can only quote from the bible and can NEVER provide absolute proof of what they claim or say.

I'm a Christian, but I'm not a Religious Fanatic. My guess is that they do this because the Christian faith teaches us that you should "Go tell it on the mountain. Over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is Lord". This is a Christian song. We're taught to witness to others and to spread the good news to help non-believers and other believers as well. They feel that they are fulfilling their Christian duties by doing this. In their eyes, what kind of Christian would they be if they didn't try to help some poor soul who doesn't believe? Yes, they probably are waiting by the computer with prepared answers for some questions. To them, they are witnessing. They feel they're doing what they're supposed to do...however cut and pasted or prepared it may be. The thing is, though, that I don't see how these people and types so rooted in their faith can actully have fun on YA. This site is more of a laid back, have fun thing.. They make everything all strict and serious when they do this...When someone asks a spirtual question that I feel I have an answer to, I just answer it to the best of my knowledge based on what I've learned in my faith and lifetime. I try not to ram religious stuff down people's throats just because...This doesn't make me any less of a Christian than the people who do. this site is not about that. Those people should go to a website specifically for that. I really don't think they have any fun on here because they constantly kill the mood with all of their doom and gloom. There's a time and place for everything (the Bible even says so), and some people just take it too far. You can love God or Vishnu or whoever you believe in without making YA "un-fun", ya feel me???

Why Do Christians Always Write An Essay To Support Their Dogma?

People are trying to give you an answer to your questions. If you do not like the answers you are going to get, don't ask

Yes as a Christian I can find some of these people rather tiresome in the same way as I used to find the Christian colleagues not supporting certain actions because they are sinful, ( I'm talking about industrial actions) but the same people being first in the queue to collect any advantage gained by the sinners

Yes, we have our traps set and ready!
Seriously - I agree that some answers are way too long, and the thoughts disconnected.. Some people don't realize that if you're not a bible believer or reader, you're certainly not going to
follow their suggestions and "read the bible in its entirety" as I've seen it suggested.
Keep asking anyway - it gets some people thinking and searching for their own answer.

Because it takes a 2,000 word pre-written argument to affectively confuse people away from the logical answer, and some people will go to extreme lengths to *win*.

Cut and Paste and notepad already preloaded with ammunition.
They have to try and win the argument because they cannot accept the fact that other people could be right.
Keep a bible handy because I have found that some quotes given are misquotes and some references are irrelevant to the subject.

I am a Christian and I was wondering the same thing about some. If they are saying something from the heart it is fine, but like you say most of it is copyed word for word. My Dad always says, "If you have something to say, say it and sit-down." Or, "Please don't go around the barn to get to the house, there is a straight path that is shorter".

People write answers to answer the questions that other people ask.
If you do not like getting answers, perhaps it is because you are not really asking a question that you want an answer for.
If you are not actually seeking an answer on Yahoo Answers, you are in violation of the Yahoo Answers policies and should loose your account here.
If you are really looking for the truth you will find it.

They have to have pre-made answers to every question, because they are not supposed to actually think about the question or the answer. They can only think what their religion tells them to.

This was made obvious to me by the street preacher who could not actually talk TO anyone, just AT everyone.
