on the inner rim of my eye whilst wearing contact lenses?

Eyeliner on the inner rim of the eye (between lashes and eye ball) is a bad idea whether you wear contacts or not. The lid margin contains many small oil glands that will not function properly if clogged with liner. The result could be irritated eyes, blepharitis, eye infection, styes and dry eye.

In addition to that, if you do it while wearing contacts, you could get liner on the lenses which will mean replacing them.

Hi,

I advise that you apply eyeliner either first or second in the eye make-up area; either before or after the eye shadow.

1) Open the lid and make sure all excess make up from the face previously is off.
2) Pencil the eyeliner on the rim of your eye, being careful not to poke yourself in the eye with it. And covering the whole of the rim.
3) Add any extra eyeliner. For example, goth-mosher type people, add extra along the edge of your eye lid, and maybe even join the two up at the edge at a point, or at parties, get some white eyeliner to put underneath the bottom set of eyelashes, where the ‘bags’ of sleepiness occur, and then, add a point with the white eyeliner at the edge of the eye, as this will make your bags disappear quite some bit.

It'll probably iritate it...you may even experience an infection. You should never put eyeliner there because of this reason contact lens or not.
