I am 14 and im turning 15 in a month. I am 5'8" and 125 lbs. I'm thinking about joining cross country. I can run mile in 6 minutes and 30 seconds and a lot of people say i would do good in cross country. But i feel like im not in good enough shape for it. So should i try out or wait til next year?

Personally, I think you should join. The best way to acheive goals in any sport is to participate.
Running cross country is all about building up your endurance and stamina. The sooner you begin, the better you will be in the long run (no pun intended).

DO they have a conditioning session that starts before try outs? If so you could try that. If not you still have like 3 weeks to get into better shape for try outs.

I say go for it. If its something you want to do and don't mind working hard for it. You will get in better shape once practice starts.
