I was just wondering if anyone with hypothyroidism has lost the weight they gained from their hypothyroid when they were put on medication ... If so, which medication ... Also, has anyone found a certain medication that actually made them gain even more weight then just the thyroid alone?

No, I did not lose any weight just with medication. I've been on Levoxyl, Levoxyl with Cytomel, and finally Armour and no weight loss by medication alone. Most will not lose weight until they get the TSH below 1.0 on T4 or the free t4 midrange and free t3 high in range on Armour and they still will have to exercise.

I do watch what I eat and exercise and I still couldn't lose any weight. I sought out why and asked for a fasting insulin and fasting glucose, It showed I had insulin resistance from the weight gain the hypothyroidism caused. Insulin resistance makes it difficult to lose weight. Since on Metformin ER for the insulin resistance I have lost about half of the thyroid weight. I have also bumped up my exercise a little. I exercise 5 days a week for 1 hour, plus I use free weights 3 times a week. I fel better on Armour, so I exercise more than I did before

Once on the proper medication and dose of medication, you will start to lose the weight you gained. I am on synthroid, I like it alot, I feel normal on it, I don't like the generic versions b/c I don't feel as if they work as well, my mom also is hypothryoid and she feels the same way. They are all suppose to do the same job, that's just my opinion on that.
BUT, you still need to eat right and exercise, synthroid is not a diet pill and does not work like one, it is a hormone replacement, and it gives your body the proper amount of the thyroid hormone your body needs to keep your metabolizm working properly, it's up to you to exercise and eat right.
SO, don't expect to lose 50 pounds, you can expect some weight lose, but if your looking to lose lots of weight only good old fashion exercise will work.
