i'm going with ''fire'' on this one. as much as i hate denominational seperations, i've found that every denomination makes up a key part of the big picture. you never realize how much you can benefit from learning which elements of the gospel all the different churches emphasize until you visit a lot of different churches. i do that, and it's helped me to grow immensely.
excellent question. i'm starring it.

I like your way of thinking. (And lately, I've been trying to grow numerous plants from cuttings... )
I used to think that uniformity meant unity; and therefore, all Christian believers would be best off combining into one large structure... Or at least be ecumenical enough to cooperate with everyone else.
I don't believe that way any longer. Christ is represented in so many diverse and unique ways in every different denomination, that I find it to be the most beautiful tapestry in the world. No artisan, weaver, painter, or sculptor could create such an intrecate design, incorporating so many colors and materials and styles as God.
Each denomination allows us to see a different and beautiful view of the same God. The way each different denomination and person worships is yet another representation of how the heavenly worship will appear.
Thank God we can see a greater picture through all the differences we have, and learn more about our God in the process!
I'm also quite convinced that if we didn't have so many diverse beliefs within Christianity as a whole, some people would never be able to apprehend, comprehend, or understand God the way they were created...

From the vine comes fine wine!
Jesus supplies the spiritual nutrition we need in life. We abide and therefore bear much fruit.
Denominations are the source of man and religion. We make the same old mistake of being empire builders.
Christ wants One Body of believers, living stones. He prays that we are one even as He and the Father are one. John 17:21
The context of this passage includes the sending of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works in our live, if we let Him. The Holy Spirit is here to sanctify us. (work in our lives)
You want the world to stand up and recognize the church. Then get a paradigm for unity. (Not compromise, but come under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.)

All denominations of Christians that believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are cuttings from the same Vine (Jesus).
The fullness of the Church and the fullness of the Christian experience comes through the Jesus in the Church that he established---Catholic and Orthodox. The Church has sacraments that help you live the fullness of the Christian life and also help you partake of the divine nature of God by partaking in holy communion---body and blood of Jesus.

In one sense we are all Christ overcoming our narcissistic ego.
In another sense, we are transcending and growing with infusions of the Spirit to be something greater, a synthesis, using genetic material from elsewhere. In other words, we grow from seeds as well.
PS The prefix di means of God. Divine would then mean the vine of God. We are fed through the vine and are the vine. What ever Jesus said of himself pertains to us as well, we just can't believe it yet, at times

Yes, I believe so. People are not all made with the same cookie-cutter. We are all individuals. As long as a denomination believes in being born-again, we are all a part of Christ, even if we might have some different traditions and practices.
