I hope those of you who do realize that you're just revealing beforehand that you're too cheap to order a double and probably won't tip much even if it is a heavy pour. Hint: order a double, tip well, and you will see returns on subsequent rounds.

I always tip the bartender first, and a good tip at that. once they see that they already have a nice tip from u, the bartender usually follows with the strong drinks.

I hated that when I was a bartender. It meant "more booze for the same price". And God forbid I charged them more. They'd love to point out on the drink card that it was only $3.00 and did not order a double. Cheapskates.

no, i have never done that. But I used to serve and be a bartender and I thought the same abouut people and they usually were too cheap :)

I am not a big drinker but I do sometimes ask them to make it strong. You do make a good point that you are trying to save money in that case and you should tip well in that case. I am going to let people know that. Thanks!!

yes i do top shelf and i tip damn good to get result the next time i come in
