If you obtain a Permanent Resident Alien card (AKA Green Card) from the US. Otherwise, you will be treated the same sa any other non-US person. Even so, the card does not last forever, as you are expected, at some point (within 10 years, or so), to obtain US citizenship.

Walking dead, actually they only have to renew the card after 10 years they don't have to become a US citizen. They can become one anytime after 5 years if they so choose to, but it is not required. Also, you forgot to add they have to qualify under the family provision or a professional provision first, if they don't they aren't eligible for a green card period. Canada just like Mexico cannot participate in the Green Card lottery

Absolutely not.
Canadians need to follow the rules just like everyone else. Why do so many of them think they can come here and do whatever they want, without following the laws of this country?

nope. you can get in easier via a nafta job or certain jobs but even my canuk husband has to have me sponsor him.
you can visit for a few months without a visa under certain terms.
