Yes, as everyone has said its 'Sun-In' - but PLEASE heed their warnings - so many people can not be wrong! Its an awful product which smells TERRIBLE & will leave your hair like straw & a very peculiar orange colour (you can spot 'Sun-In' victims from some distance & they are unmistakable!) - not silky & shiny or 'sun-kissed' (which Im assuming is the look you are after?). Lemon juice has also been suggested - but the effectiveness really depends on your natural hair colour, brunettes - dark blondes rarely have any joy with this (and diluting it is just a waste of a perfectly good lemon which you could put in a gin & tonic)...lemon juice really only works on the naturally light blonde as the citric acid is simply not strong enough to lift the colour pigments out of strong coloured hair (brunettes tend to have strong, thick hair which is more difficult to bleach whereas blondes have finer more fragile hair but much more of it strand for strand). All hair should lighten naturally in the sun to some degree & if you want to encourage that then lemon juice would be about the safest option but dont expect dramatic results. Hope this helps. XXX

Are you into natural? Try diluted lemon juice (so you dont smell strongly of lemons and so the acid doesn't damage your hair) Pour it through after you have washed your hair - don't rinse it out. Sit out in the sun and let it do it's stuff - it may take a few days to notice but you will end up with 'surfers' hair. Good luck!

If hairdressers are too expensive, I'd at least go to a Cost cutters or Supercuts kind of cheapie place to do it before doing it myself. Even the pros have trouble getting it the exact shade they want and Sun In types of products may turn your hair orange or white. Then you would need to go to a professional to strip it which totally f's up your hair and you'd be spending the money to correct it so you may as well spend it in the beginning! Or just let the summer sun naturally lighten it. I'm sure you're gorgeous just as you are!

lemon juice does the trick if you want lighter hair cheaply! Just squeeze out the juice and apply to hair where you want it lightened. Or as mentioned before - sun in

don't be silly by using a terrible product like sun-in and then frying your hair in the sun. trust me when i say that if you want blonder hair then you will get MUCH less damage by using bleach. sun is the WORST factor in damage to hair that unknowledgeable people put down to bleach- but it IS the sun.

It's called sun in, but please don't use it. It is about one of the worst things you can do to your hair; absolutely toxic stuff, like bleach or something. It dries out your hair and makes it dull; not shiny..also if you are blonde it goes slightly gingery, and not a nice colour at all. Trust me, I had have previous experience!
Hope you take this advice, I ruined my hair for about 6months by using that stuff. xx
