The great Italian poet, Dante, portrayed the afterlife as a sort of high-rise building. He began with Hell, which he subdivided into 7 levels, the lowest level being the worst. On each level, people were subject to the most horrendous tortures imaginable. He then went up to limbo, where good people were sent who were born B.C. Finally, he described Paradise, where all good Christians went. What do you think of this structure?
