This is for a speech I'm preparing. Do you have any stats, clever quotes or quips on mobile communication(boon or bane). I'm like tagged "funny" by everybody, and any funny stat (or even interesting) would be welcome.
Tips for a great speech are welcome too.(duration:5 minutes)

INFORMATION ONLY!
We are going through an amazingly fast communications technology change. The average consumer has no central point of reference to determine whether the phones or plans they are buying are more than they need or the "special" being offered is a dump of some technology that is already outdated.
EVERY CELL OR MOBILE PHONE SELLER OFFERS SUCH A BEWILDERING VARIETY OF PLANS & PHONES that the buyer has little chance of knowing what the "BEST" buy for them is.
One of the problems is that all cell & mobile providers sell a variety of phones from different manufacturers. Each of these phones have different capapilities and limitations; and they really have nothing to do with the Cellular Service Provider or it's charges or contract terms, as many of the same phones are offered by almost all Service Providers.
My advice is to determine what you really need to use the phone for & buy NO MORE than you need. The same with the Provider's plan. It is to their interest only to sell you the most services they can. TAKE THE TIME TO COMPARE COSTS & PLANS AHEAD OF TIME. THE SAME WITH THE PHONE YOU PURCHASE.
YOU CAN SAVE A BUNDLE AS ME & MY WIFE HAVE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY.
This is just an example. We purchased a dual phone Share plan at a Kiosk at Sam's Club which can sell MANY providers plans and a limitless variety of phones. They talked my wife into buying services we would never use, and a phone that is so complex that the learning curve to use all of it's capabilities almost takes an engineering degree.
They also sold her bluetooth headsets where the generic & very good bluetooth heart of the unit was encased in an enclosure so "CHEAP" it was unusable.
THEN SOLD HER A WARRANTY ON THE PHONES WHICH REQUIRED THE PHONE TO BE SENT AWAY FOR REPAIR, AND WHOEVER DOES THE REPAIR IS THE SOLE DETERMINER OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY WILL COVER "ANYTHING" UNDER THE WARRANTY.
We discovered that the KIOSK was simply leased space operated by RADIO SHACK. SAMS CLUB has no affiliation at all with the RADIO SHACK KIOSK and SAMS CLUB EMPLOYEES cannot even communicate with anyone operating the KIOSK.
After getting home & reading ALL of the contract, we simply went down to the local SPRINT STORE & reset the account directly with sprint. We returned the defective headsets to the Kiosk & The extra cost WARRANTY and got a warranty at a lower price Directly from sprint that covers everything that could possibly happen to the phone, including dropping it in the water. The added benefit was that the phone could be serviced at any time right at the Sprint Store. The service there & phone help has been excellent, though our signal strenth has been a little erratic.
This is not a advertisement to use Sprint over any other plan. It is just an example to study well ahead of time before buying.

I think if I were preparing a speech on this topic, unless I were trying to sell a specific brand, I would begin with the phrase "Can you hear me now?"
