I have a really bad case of spots which don't itch but which have spread down from my bum through to my upper thighs. Doctor gave me the antibiotics but I have 1 day left to go and nothign seems to have changed in my skin condition. Anyone else had this problem or have any idea what might be the cause??? Pain in the **** or what!

It's definitely not a rash, they're like little bumpy spots.

Hi Ella, Flucloxacillin is indicated for the treatment of staphylococcal skin infections(folliculitis, a furuncle, a hordeolum) and cellulitis – including impetigo.

Cleanliness and good hygiene are the best way to protect yourself against getting staphylococcal (and other) infections. You can help prevent staphylococcal skin infections by washing your hands frequently and by bathing or showering daily.

Keep areas of skin that have been injured clean and covered (use disposable towels), and use any antibiotic ointments or other treatments that your doctor suggests. If someone in your family has a infection, don't share towels, sheets, or clothing until the infection has been fully treated.

It may be shingles, i have had this before across my back and stomach and it wasnt very pleasant. Its caused from chicken pox, well what i mean is that after you have had chicken pox the virus is still in your body and it probably has just broken through again. If it is shingles you are lucky as it can be quite painful..i know! I was just put on antibiotics, i cant remember the name but it was nothing more seroius than that. Just dont go anywhere near someone who hasnt had chicken pox as it is contagious.

The best thing to do is to go back to the doctors so he can give you some different antibiotics that might help destroy it.

Hope ive helped. =]

Look I am not suggesting this will cure it, but washing with rose water and covering them with cornflour may well reduce the visible part ofthe spots.

shouldn't you tell this to the doctor. we really don't care and can't change the Rx.
