Call the insurance company and see what you have to do to get fixed in Florida. Maybe you can pay 20% for out-of-area coverage? Or, frankly, I wouldn't go on vacation: you'll just be miserable for three weeks.

I think I know what type of tootchache your having. It's probably has to do with your wisdom teeth trying to make more room for itself. Cavities are pretty painful, but nothing compared to cramped wisdom teeth. You probably didnt get them pulled out, when you were younger. I had the same exact problem about 2 months ago. Worst pain, I've had in my entire life. If I were you, I would still go on the vacation. It's probably going to last for only a week or a week in a half at most. At least mine did :/. You probably cant really control the pain with tylenol or even asprin. It would probably block 15% of the pain at it's best. The pain is probably to big for any over the counter drug to work. You can try to get a prescription for a stronger asprin pill at a pharmacy, but you probably have to visit a dentist near your vacation spot for that. But even with those prescription pills it only probably blocks the pain by 90% for like 30 minutes. What helped me the most was putting either mouth wash or cold water in my mouth and leaving it there for like 4 minutes. Afterwards, Spit out and repeat the cycle. It gets rid of the pain by at least 75+%. Not sure why, but I guess it nums the nerves a little bit or something. Also you can put rubbing alcohol on a piece of cotton and then afterwards, put the cotton on top of the tooth that hurts and then just close your mouth. It wont work for too long though. You should probably not swallow your saliva either for like 2 minutes after you throw the cotton away. Either way, I wish you good luck. Your going to need it.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE TYLENOL FOR THREE WEEKS!!! Tylenol can DESTROY your liver if you take too much !!!
Step 1 : go immediately to an emergency room in Florida and explain your situation. The doctor will give you pain killers and/or anti-biotics.
Step 2: Find a new dentist !!!
I've been in your position (Ate a 750 count bottle of aspirin in 4 days). Use aspirin or ibuprofin for over the counter relief. NEVER tylenol for long term pain.
Try a thorough gargle with Listerine or straight liquor (alchohol) and get to an emergency room.
Sorry for your pain

Your insurance should offer SOME sort of out-of-area coverage; call the provider to find out what can be done while you're in Florida. I'd also call your dentist back (and I don't care if it's the middle of the night!) and ask for something a LOT stronger than Advil, as well as some antibiotics. Good luck!

Fortunately there are over-the-counter solutions that you can find in the pharmacy that adhere to the cavity to reduce the pain. Like a medicated temporary filling. I've used Dent's Extra Strength Toothache Gum which you place on the exposed cavity and it works well!

i am having a similar problem right now, a very bad toothache from a broken tooth, i cannot sleep, ive taken a lot of ibuprofen but its doing nothing.

i have been rinsing my mouth with cool water, that helps ease the pain, but it doesnt last long, now i am putting ice in my mouth on that side, thats helping a lot until the ice melts, so i still cant sleep. but at least it gives me some relief.

good luck

I'm sorry I can't help you with your dentist problems but it does sound like you will need to do something pretty quickly. In the meantime, though, to deal with the pain, take a teabag and soak it in warm water. Place it on the tooth and bite down very gently on it. Leave it there for awhile and the pain should ease. Something about the tannic acid in the tea really helps. Hope you feel better soon.... :-)

Get yourself some clove oil - it will numb the tooth, use cotton wool or a cotton tip to put it in the cavity - it tastes like ****, a mixture of dirt mixed with cinnimon and liquorice but it help to numb - get some bonjella jeb or an oral numbing agent - good luck

Much love
