Truthfully, exercise will help your depression a lot. Try about half an hour a day to start, and work up to 45 minutes, about three to five times a week. As for treats, what works for you? A bubble bath? Keeping a journal? Buying fresh flowers? Talking to a friend? Also, if you have depression, I'd get off the computer. Studies show that spending more time in front of a computer can make people feel depressed.

I could be wrong but you sound like you are more than likely doing too much and not knowing how to appreciate properly what you do rather than for novelty value.
I learnt from a guy called Spencer Johnson where he wrote about "my list of daily victories". I have used them ever since and although I have never suffered from depression I do feel much better about myself and my daily life.
my personal victory list as follows:
1. alarm clock goes and I wake up and not snooze around.
2. showers and clean myself up.
3. exercise such as press ups and push ups
4. have breakfast at home and cook it myself so I save myself money buying breakfast.
5. leave home no later than 7.59.
so on and so on
I count these things everyday as they happen and by the time I am in my car I tell myself that I am 5 and 0 and I haven't even started yet. I then remind myself what could have happened instead.....such as no water for shower...no food in the fridge for breakfast...... woke up late......
By then I would feel really good and excited about the day ahead of me. All that from things that most people would overlook and ignore.
"catch yourself doing things right"

I treat myself with alcohol..like vodka and stuff..NO, bad Idea :( nothing habbit forming..like food or anything..honestly..I think treating yourself with material items or activities wouldn't work to get most people out of a depression..though it could prevent from being depressed in the first place..I think the best way is to express how you feel, if not to others through just talking and communication. then maybe just to yourself, by writting or something..most of the time when you are able to sort your feelings and emotions, you realize you have no reason to be depressed.
