The best way to get rid of Tinea V. is to apply Selsun Blue shampoo to affected areas, let it dry and keep it on overnight. Wash it away in the morning shower. Repeat for 3 nights in a row. Done.

You should never use household bleach on your skin for any reason. Tinea versicolor is a noncontagious fungal infection that causes lighter or darker patches of skin on specific areas of the body.
Read about tinea versicolor (and its treatment!) at http://www.medicinenet.com/tinea_versicolor/article.htm.
and http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/tinea-versicolor/DS00635
If you have tinea versicolor, and have tried to treat it with topical antifungals without success (it takes at least 4 weeks), you may want to see a physician for a prescription oral antifungal or topical antifungal. Sometimes it is difficult to get rid of and may return, but it does NOT cause permanent skin discoloration.
If you use bleach on your skin, you may end up with something that looks much worse than a few fungal patches.

I wouldn't use household bleach on my skin if I were you, your going to burn yourself. Might make an infection worse. You need to get an anti-fungal creme for yourself.

It's a fungus so you probably need an anti fungal cream.
