I got back from a family values tour concert.I had to leave before korn showed because some guy and his friends could not stop trying to punch me. The security wouldnt do anything (iam already complaining to them). His reason was that I was a Christian (cross necklace) and that He was under the impression I a kid (iam adult). I left the seating area and the jerk still followed me and the security just watched (i got no idea why they tolerate violence) so I had to leave.I dont see this as commonly ethical. I didnt even talk to the guy.he simply walk up and said " I hate Fa##$ like you" and "Christ following piece of sh^" . This guy was obviously nutz, but its still an example of how people will violently implement a disbelief on others. What would derive someone to attack an idle and unkown person like that?

to clarify to. I knew he was an atheist due to the fact that he kept ranting on about organised religion and the all spirituality is "bs". its true he did not outright say that he was but it was definatley more than apparent that he was not a believer. This isnt a rash post I am trying to learn about the human mind not bash it

WHAT WOULD MAKE SOME DO SUCH A THING IF HE WAS NOT A BELIEVER?
someone stated a good reason. so far.
this guy was literally crazy

Regardless of whether or not he was an Atheist it is wrong he attacked you..

However, as a Christian you really needed to think about your surroundings and that you are in a place that is worldly...I went to the Pop Sux tour.. many many years ago.. I am a fairly attractive woman and I got hit in the head with a cast and pushed.. not sure why? However, as I have gotten older I realized that I was in a place that was not where I should have been and that when those beats and things get going they almost breed violent behavior (aka mosh pits).

Don't get me wrong I really enjoy rock I like korn, metallica and disturbed.. but I know they are not edifying to my Maker and to my walk with God.. it has been a hard thing to give up you may want to use this as a little wake up call that you maybe need to remove that music from your life..

I am really glad you did not get seriously hurt.. and I am sorry someone was mean to you. I hope you do not take offense to my answer.. I just know that it was a stumbling block in my life. I am in no way trying to judge you..(that's not my job nor do I want to make it my job!!=)

You're going to allow the actions of a jerk at a concert speak for all of us?

The Thirty Years' War. The Crusades. The Inquisition. The Holocaust.

I'm still willing to give YOU the benefit of the doubt. Why not extend the same courtesy?

It's getting ridiculous. What about religious radicals who would eradicate life on this plant because of people who don't agree with their beliefs? And mankind may have to accept that. Isn't it enough? Mankind has to stop being religions punching bag. Religious violence is a cancer.

Based solely upon your account, it sounds like he was a hateful idiot. Yep, we nontheists have those, too, I'm afraid. I cannot and do not condone that kind of intolerance and bullying from anyone against anyone. No one has the right to punch you unless provoked.

I'm sorry you were harassed by a jerk. Don't hold it against all of us.

Humanist

Atheists can do what ever they like since they don't believe in a God that will punish them. Think about it, what truly, God fearing person could just walk up to someone and shoot or stab them, or rape a woman, or molest a child, or steal from someone? None, that's who. Who does that leave committing crimes, unbelievers. writersblock73 / your still talking about unbelievers, because true disciples of Christ would not do that, they are the false Christians that Christ Jesus spoke about and that he said he never knew.

What is a Christian doing at a Korn concert anyway?

You pissed someone off and you use the term atheist because it fits your agenda. You don't know, but you are accusing freely. Based on your attitude here, I'd say it's more likely that you are at fault.

And you did nothing to provoke this guy but wear a cross? hmmm, I wonder if you are telling the whole truth, and if so, I wonder what torture christian parents must have wrought on him for him to be so violently opposed to cross wearing.... That would make a lot of people he has to beat up.

How do you even know he was "Atheist"?

He could have been Muslim or Jewish for all you knew.

Way to Judge people.

Even then both sides get crazies right? That doesn't mean you judge the entire side.
