You didn't have a blood test done. Or if you did, they didn't give you the results.
You had what's called a blood "typing". Everybody has antigens in their blood that attach to the red blood cells. They're perfectly harmless and normal, but you can't transplant tissue or blood from one person to another unless many things (including blood type) matches.
If you were donating blood, they performed an HIV test, but to be sure, I would just go get one done. Every state has free clinics that will test for you.
This website http://www.hivtest.org/ will tell you the closest place. You should get tested at LEAST every 6 months.
Good luck, and Good Health!!

B positive is your blood type- this doesn't tell you anything about what diseases you may have, it mostly just tells you who you can donate blood to or recieve blood from.
An HIV test checks if your body is producing antibodies to the HIV virus- if it is, you are HIV postive. Most cities have free clinics where you can have this test done in about ten minutes- although some places won't get your results for a week or two.

Yes, you do. They only told you what your blood type is. You need to ask for the HIV test to get it, it's not usually included. Also, they can just do a cheek swab now, and you get the results quickly.

no it should be automatic since they find out what blood you are for donation the want to make sure you are qualified to give blood if they just take every body's word on it then the blood bank would be giving out contaminated blood you wont hear nothing from them in less you ask or you do have something to make sure go give blood and what ever you do don't tell them you had sex with another man since 1977 its a bad thing lol
